Grassland Managing & Planning Project--Sponsored by SDGC. Ranchers participating in the project are provided technical assistance for management-intensive grazing systems. Information derived from this project is also shared with other producers and the public. See photos and read annual updates on the project sites.

SD Conservation.org Grassland section and Links--Information on the grassland resources of South Dakota, grassland management, and other resources on the internet.

SD Bootstraps Program--A grass-roots effort that addresses community need by providing the tools and atmosphere for self-help to people interested in lifelong learning.

National Grazing Land Conservation Initiative--A nationwide, collaborative process to provide high quality technical assistance on privately owned grazing lands on a voluntary basis.

South Dakota State University--Animal & Range Sciences Department & West River Ag Cooperative Extension Service Center

SD Natural Resources Conservation Service--Federal agency that works with private landowners to help them protect their natural resources. The agency emphasizes voluntary, science-based assistance, partnerships, and cooperative problem solving at the community level through the locally-led conservation process.

Society For Rangeland Management--Professional scientific society and conservation organization whose members are concerned with studying, conserving, managing and sustaining the varied resources of the rangelands which comprise nearly half the land in the world.

University of Missouri Forage Systems Research Center--Their primary research objective is the development and evaluation of forage systems for all classes of beef cattle.

Noble Foundation--Based in Ardmore, OK. One of the 50 largest private, non-profit foundations in the United States. The primary activities of the Foundation are grant-making, agriculture research and consulting, and plant biology and biotechnology research.

Stockman Grass Farmer.com--Books on grazing and ranch management.

National Ag Risk Education Library--A major component of USDA's risk management education initiative to help both producers and agricultural professionals quickly locate information, tools, and assistance relevant to specific risk management topics.
